The steps listed below work the same on Instagram’s Android and iOS apps.
- To reset suggested content on Instagram, go to your profile > open any post or reel in the Explore or Reel tab > tap on the ellipsis (three dots) > select Manage content preferences > choose Reset suggested content > tap Next > tap Reset suggested content > confirm the change.
Now, Instagram will populate the feed and Explore tab with random reels initially, but as it gradually identifies the type of content you frequently interact with, Instagram will show more of the same type. This is what happened when I reset suggested content on Instagram!

If you can’t find the “Reset suggested content” option on Instagram, update the mobile app. The recommendations reset feature was initially rolled out to a selected set of users and was then gradually added to more devices.
